Last week’s winner of Elizabeth Scott’s As I Wake is… Travis! Remind me of your address, T.

This week, I’m giving away an ARC of Jennifer Castle‘s The Beginning of After (read a sneak peek here). Kirkus say it’s “An honest look at grief that is both achingly real and powerfully hopeful.” Um, how good does that sound? It also sounds like I’d need a box of tissues to get through it, but sometimes reads like that are cathartic and AWESOME (like Gayle Forman’s If I Stay, for example). Who’s with me?

Anyway, to enter to win this book, tell me about the last time you cried. Eek, I know I’m getting personal here, but I’m curious. Me? I cry all the time. Seriously, it’s a big release for me. I cried today because I’m overwhelmed by baby stuff–it’s really hard. And I always cry at movies on airplanes. That’s actually a thing, you know. So there’s me getting all personal. Your turn.

I’ll choose a random winner next week!

The last time I cried would have been last week.. My husband and I recently bought our own home.. YAY!! FINALLY home owners.. We have 2 kids and moving with them, my husband working, trying to unpack, cook, clean (and unpack) Seriously, that is just NOT fair!! Not even kidding.. You are unpacking and cleaning, then trying to clean the stuff back up you just unpacked because your kids got it back out.. Then I was mean to my husband and I felt bad for flipping out on him when he worked all day, he does the best he can.. But my life just got totally out of control and it was a bad week… But finally we are home owners, we are settled and things are good now… =)

The last time I cried was Monday night. I made a visit to my ex’s place, and my expectations of what was going to happen was not what transpired. I cried to him because I missed him, I cried on the way home. I cried in my bed, and then I cried as another guy friend held me and I recounted all the crap that was the relationship of my ex and I.

  3. Tiff says:

I think the last time I cried was watching the Season 2 finale of Being Erica. Seriously, if you haven’t seen this show, you will LOVE it. It’s like therapy, and some of the scenes are so true to life…I won’t give anything away, but there’s a montage at the end that so perfectly captures a really hard time in someone’s life. It was so honest that it made me cry.

Hmmmm good question… I think it was a few weeks ago. I cried watching Taylor Swifts “Fifteen” music video. I know, I’m such a lame pants, but that part where it talks about the girl giving away everything for a boy who changed his mind just broke my heart. :(

  5. Edna says:

I’m totally with you! I love when books touch me in a way that evokes such emotions.

The last time I cried was last month. I watched a handful of 9/11 documentaries around the anniversary and there was no way I could get through them without shedding a few tears.

The last time I cried was when I was reading Hunger Games. The part when a certain character died and how the dead girl’s district sent Katniss bread totally made me cry!!!

  7. Bee says:

Oh, man. I’m such a crier. The last time I cried was just while back. Today’s the last day of the biggest festival in my country and that just makes me so sad, cos THIS IS SO MUCH FUN IT’S UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE. Gah, I can’t wait for this time next year to get here quick.

And oh, I’d love to read this so much. I read the excerpt on Harper and I WANT IT! I have a thing for the sad books. But you’ve probably figured that out by now.

  8. Rachel M. says:

The last time I cried was Tuesday. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and I was feeling very lonely and vulnerable.

  9. Janessa says:

The last time I cried was last night. I just started college and I was with a few girls from my House (it’s like a sorority). They were just talking about how they really want us to get to know each other and really mean it when they ask “how are you?” And then the went and asked how I was… Let’s just say I was having a bad day..

  10. VioletRenae says:

Last time that I cried was while rereading a book called Unwind by Neil Shusterman. There is a chapter where the bad guy gets unwound and I cried so much the first time I read it. I get so emotional over stupid stuff like that.

  11. Alejandra says:

The last time I cried was July 15, 2011, watching the last Harry Potter movie. The series was part of my life for 14 years and seeing it coming to an end made me sad. I have never cry with a movie before until then.

  12. When I heard about Steve Jobs. Just because I hate that cancer took someone so young!

  13. Lindsey says:

The last time I cried was actually today, haha. I don’t cry very often, but then today my boyfriend and I were playing around and of course someone ended up getting hurt (him, because I poked him in the eye with my toe) and it wasn’t that I was crying because I hurt him, but I cried because I always do stupid stuff like that and sometimes I just feel like I can’t do anything right. But he quickly reassured me that he doesn’t think I’m stupid, and his eye wasn’t even bloodshot. Hooray!

  14. Charlotte says:

The last time I cried was when I found out ex had gotten married. We hadn’t been in contact for almost a year, and I had a dream that not only was he married but he and his wife were expecting. So the next day I googled him, and he had gotten married a couple of months before my dream. And then I cried…a lot.

  15. Natalie says:

Oh boy. I have cried numerous times over the past couple weeks because my mom has been in the hospital. As far as books, the last time I cried was when I read Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. Not a sad book but just one of those books where I could completely identify with some of the main character’s struggles. and let’s not get started on If I Stay. I’ve never cried so much while reading a book. :-)

  16. amanda hurray says:

I’m like you I cry all the time lol. I cried yesterday listening to a song that reminded me of an old friend.

  17. Aik says:

The last time I cried was when I watched a really touching Japanese drama called One Litre of Tears (1リットルの涙). It was so sad that it broke my heart.

  18. Samantha says:

Oh man I cry all the time. I watched Notting Hill yesterday and cried during that :)

  19. Gothical says:

Last time I cried was two minutes ago, after I opened my package and discovered that I had a signed book mark by Holly Black it was such a precious moment.

  20. Stephanie Redwine says:

The last time I cried was at school a few weeks ago. I was super stressed and I just broke down crying. (I’m a huge stress crier)

  21. I think the last time I cried was when I was watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels and he visited the Anne Frank house and you got to see where she actually stayed. And then there was this picture of Otto Frank by himself and it was just really, really sad. I can’t even imagine.

  22. Allison R says:

The last time I cried was last week. My boyfriend & I broke up a month ago and it has been really rough on me (as you can tell it wasn’t a mutual or good breakup). There are small things that remind me of him and of him so the memories are tough like I was listening to my iPod and our song came on. I was going to turn it off but I ended listening to it and crying by myself. :’(

  23. Dani Nguyen says:

I cried on Sunday when I was reading Dear Mr. Potter. I seriously can’t watch/read/hear anything Harry Potter now without feeling nostalgic. Then I laugh at myself for being so sappy.
