Win-It Wednesday: Trapped by Michael Northrop
Last week's winner of Fall for Anything by Courtney Summers is... Travis! Send me your address, T.
This week, I'm giving away an ARC of Trapped by Michael Northrop. I've joked with Michael that these massive snowstorms are probably the best promotional efforts by an author that I've ever seen. I'm only half kidding.
I've raved about this book in other spots (like on The Contemps this week), so here, I'll just tell you that it's un-put-downable. For real. To enter to win, how about you just tell me where you are and what the weather's like there. It's all we New Yorkers can talk about: "Snow! Ice! Brrrrr!"
So, what is the weather like? I'll chose a winner next week.
PS-Here's Michael being hilarious as usual, just for fun:

I'm in South Carolina, and it's kinda cold, but not too bad.

SORRY TO TELL YOU ALL, but I am in San Diego...ish. And it's cold, but when we say cold we mean like... in the 40s/50s. And, um, windy.

Well I live in Wylie Texas, and as of right now, we've had 3 days of no school cause of inclement weather. yes, 3 WHOLE DAYS. This has never happened before! The roads are covered with ice that measures about 1 or 2 inches thick! maybe 3! And the winds are so cold and strong that when you step outside its like a slap in the face! I almost couldn't breathe! D: I swear I was about to get frostbite on my hands and feet! I had to walk across the Walmart parking lot that was covered in ice, and imagine how hard it is pushing a shopping cart across ice... :( It was the most dreadful minute of my life. haha!

Haha, definitely the best promotion ever! I can't wait to read that book, and it would be perfect for a snowy day.
I'm in SW Ontario (Canada) and it's snowy here, but just average snowy. We were supposed to get the big storm, and yah, the roads aren't that great, but it's definitely not as bad as some places in the States. We had our big storm in the middle of December, and that was when the whole city was shut down for 3 or 4 days, because the snow was literally drifted to 6 feet in some places. Thank goodness it's not that bad now. But besides the weather it's FREEZING here (-15 celcius... not sure what that is in Fahrenheit).

I'm glad it's nice here.

I'm at a conference in Tampa. Hot, muggy. Sorry to hear that you and others are snowed in. If it is any consolation, if my flight gets canceled, I'll have to stay here until flights are back to normal.

I'm in Oregon. It has been rainy and cold the past few weeks, but it's now sunny and cold. :/

I'm in Calcutta, the weather's crisp and awesome. Loving it here right now.

I'm in the DFW area (Texas) and everything is iced over! It's crazy. We were joking about how everyone coming for the Superbowl would enjoy warm weather . . . and then the storm came through.

I'm in Michigan, west of Detroit, and it's pretty bad...but not as bad as we thought it would be! No school yesterday, but school's back in session today. Really, the wind/drifting is worse than the actual snow...
Thanks for these giveaways...I haven't won one yet, but I love hearing from all the people that read your blog!

I'm in Germany and the weather is very bland. No snow, a little rain and not too cold. We had awesome snow back in December (just in time for Christmas) but now I'm looking forward to the warmer weather.

I'm in lower Alabama. About 25ish miles from the coast. It is freezing here! I know it isn't REALLY that cold in comparison with other parts of the country but for the Gulf Coast? It's c.o.l.d. North wind at about 15mph steady and it keeps sleeting and raining ICY rain. People keep having really bad wrecks. It's awful. Can't wait for spring!! But I'm super glad we're not having an ice storm/blizzard like so many places are right now!! :O

Northern Colorado -- below zero temps, but warm-ups are on the way...

I'm in the SW corner of Wisconsin(over by Madison) and we just got 18 inches of snow dumped on us, had white out conditions and your basic everyday run of the mill blizzard on our hands...Oh and today we started the day with a -30 wind chill...but we're at a balmy 16 degrees but it's windy as heck.

I'm in Mississippi on the coast. Its been cold lately and tonight we're suppose to be in for freezing rain.

San Jose, California: The tenth largest city in the world that no one seems to know about. The last time it snowed was about three decades ago; our definition of "@#$%ing freezing!" is if there's frost on the grass and roofs in the morning. Just your normal coastal climate.

I'm in TX and it's freezing. We are expecting snow tonight, something we don't see often in south TX. Many businesses and most schools are closed tomorrow. Did I mention we're not used to this?

Kayte J: The last time it snowed was actually five years ago - enough to coat the benches in our backyard and stay there for a few hours! (and all you non-Californians, that's a lot!)
I was complaining about it being 50 in the morning on Monday... until I saw the news. The prices we pay to have homes in the sunny weather =)

I live in Indonesia :) We have rains and today is very cloudy :D

I'm not entering in the contest (I'll be purchasing the book) but would love to play Weathergirl! Here in AR it's chilly. Slightly below freezing, and a call for flurries tomorrow. =) Not exactly TRAPPED weather, but definitely grilled cheese and tomato basil soup weather! =)

Little late to the party, but I'm in upstate New York. The weather is as unpredictable as ever. We only ended up with a mere 8 inches in the latest snowmegadon. The ice afterwards was far nastier. My daughter ended up totaling the passenger side of her car. Thankfully she came away without a scratch.
Still I would love to be trapped in my house with a fire burning in the pellet stove. It's been years since there has been a epic snow blizzard. (Hugs)Indigo

First...you "Northerners" don't laugh...I'm in South Central Mississippi at home on a "snow" day...we were forcasted to have about 1/4 inch of ice so everything is shut down, bridges were icy this morning. We're just not prepared for this kind of cold and SURE can't drive in it!!! Very cold for here!

I so want this book!
I'm in Minnesota and today we actually reached 32 degrees so things were melting just a little!

I'm in Singapore and the weather is lovely and sunny :D

I'm in Toronto, and it's not snowy, despite crazy dire warnings on the news for the last week or so. It's cold, but I think I'm used to it by now ("only -13 degrees Celsius?! Pshaw!")

The Reno weather is sunny and low 60's, touching on freezing at night. How I wish we had some of the snow everyone east of the Rockies got, as it has been a no-snow January. Makes the skiing not so good.

Well, currently I'm in Montreal, Quebec, and the weather here's kind of what I like to call the 'leftovers' of the intense snowstorms anywhere else. Meaning, it's still bad, but not bad enough for snow days. ;)
Haha, no matter how bad the storms are, though, they still make for excellent curling-up-in-front-of-the-fireplace-with-hot-chocolate-and-a-good-book evenings, and what better book to read during these snowy times than this one . . . (Awesome segue, right? ;)

I'm in Georgia and our highs lately have been in the 40's and 50's. Supposed to get rain today with high of 51. So not too bad really. Thanks for the great contest!

I'm in Florida and today we had P.E. and it was especially hot with just a slight breeze. Nice change really, but it's always like that here. :)

I live in Northern California and it's been quite warm, high 60s/low 70s. Very nice weather to go out in. :)

I live in Vancouver, Canada and we haven't had snow since before New Years.
Just lots and lots of rain.

I'm from outside Toronto, Canada and while we got tons of snow the past week, it has finally stopped. Yay! We have a snow-blower but we still always had to shovel the driveway as well... which isn't too fun. Now it's just freezing temperatures that have me always running for the warmth of the indoors. :)

I live in Puerto Rico and it's hot. According to Yahooo, it's at 78 degrees but feels like 82? What? Anyways, I've never seen snow. That's one of my dreams. I picture myself sitting with a book, looking outside and seeing snow there...instead of looking outside and seeing palm trees and feeling the hot sun.

In southern CA, it's been beautiful. It's been about 70-75 degrees the past few weeks. Absolutely perfect! However, it has been getting cold at night and drops into the 30s... which is why everyone is getting sick. I hope that this lovely weather continues and we manage to miss a rainy season, I'm not fond of rain.
