VIP release day! Win Pretties and visit Readergirlz
It's day 2 of the release party, and the official in-store date for Violet in Private! You still have a week to enter yesterday's contest, and, actually, you still have a day to enter last week's Win-It-Wednesday contest too. Phew. So much to win I'm almost sweating.
Anyway, today's prize is a signed copy of Scott Westerfeld's Pretties. I'm sure you guys know this series, but it's a fast-paced adventure in a future where, on your 16th birthday, you have an operation to make you "pretty." Follow Tally and her rebel friends as they fight to change their world.
To win the book, show some love for readergirlz.com. I'm their author of the month, and there are discussion questions up on their boards (go there and weigh in on the "August" questions), visit the main site and tell your librarian about the downloadable poster and discussion questions, friend their myspace page and see their gorgeous background this month and listen to the songs I think of when I write the Violet books. So many options!

I downloaded the poster, and am now looking for a place to take it... either the Library or my small bookstore that would understand my weird requests.

I love the readergirlz! I'm there all the time, commonly known as 'Silence is Golden, but Ducktape is Silver' or Silence or Ducktape... they get creative with that! You'll see me everywhere, I love the discussions there.
I was so happy to hear it was you this month... I was like yes! Let's have some fun... muwahahaha.

Major congrats on the release!!! I have to go and get a copy. I know the DD will love it. She's all about the model. Well me too. I hope to meet you at some fab party one day and get it signed to her. Are you having a NY book signing soon or did I already miss it? I'd love to bring her.

I see the book "Pretties" everytime I walk into Barnes and Noble....it sounds like pretty girls turning ugly, which is pretty ironic because I watched "Fab 5: the Texas Cheerleader Scandal" movie the other night on Lifetime. It was about popular girls doing anything to get what they want and be happy, but they never end up happy with what they get.
Congrats on author of the month, you deserve it! You're awesome :)

Lol, I don't have a myspace =( but I did check it out. However I did download the poster and printed copies of it! (My dad is gets free ink and paper, so I have tons of it!) I haven't had a chance to go to my library yet coz it's been so rainy (and it's been hailing but I looooove hail!), but I put some on the St David lecture theatre noticeboard. Well, it's more like the whole wall- it's more that 20m across! =D
Awww, and I can't wait to read VIP, and congrats on being AotM! =D
