Win-It Wednesday: A Brooklyn Gift Bag
How crazy/fun/scary were all those dreams? Very. I loved reading them--thank you for sharing! The randomly chosen winners are 1. I dream of a world where beauty is an inside job and 2. CrystalGB! Crystal requested Wake, so that decides who gets what. Email me your addresses, lucky girls.
Today's Win-It is a little different. You see, last week I went to Prospect Park's Summer Soiree, which looked something like this:
There were a ton of Vogue editors there, as the magazine was a sponsor, and I went with a few friends, including my friend Brooke, who's in the completely bombshell red dress with me, below:
There was food and drink and dancing. This couple closed out the night and I think she is particularly fabulous (amazing dress! amazing hair! amazing moves!).
But the best news for you guys is that I snagged two gift bags, and one is for today's giveaway.
The contents: August Vogue (Kate Moss cover), Angelique Kidjo CD, adorable kissing-clasp coinpurse, various Bumble & Bumble hair products, a can of Izze pomegranate juice, 2 pens (random, I know), Louis Licari deep red nail polish (so pretty!) and a Sunglass Hut lens cleaner/repair kit.
In these tough economic times, gift bags are rare. And this all can be yours if you'll just comment below and tell me about the best party you've been to this summer (even if it's a party in your own room with a cupcake and a great book, which is my kind of party).
Happy Summer!

WOW! *drools over bag* I'm with Emily, no parties yet for me but I'll be at a Breaking Dawn party, too! I cannot wait and I'm so, so excited. I missed the HP parties, so it'll be my first.

Best party? Well, that definitely would be my Daddy's birthday where all our family and friends came and we had lots and lots of BBQ (I heart!!!), jokes and FUN! :)

I just went to an amazing party last week. My cousin threw it to celebrate her new pool and there were fun drinks, tons of food, lots of music and even a disco ball that floated on the pool changing it all sorts of colors and flashing a strobe light for some disco atmosphere!

I've actually missed the few family birthdays this summer, but I did go to my cousin's graduation party! It was a simple affair at her house with family only and cupcakes, but I enjoy it when everyone gets together. Most of my family I see pretty frequently, but my cousins and I are busy enough we only see each other three or four times a year.
Besides, she deserved a party!

The best party I have been to this summer was my the birthday bbq of my two aunts.(they are twins). It was a great sunny afternoon in her back garden with all my family and good food and good talks.
One of the wo aunts is is diagnosed with breastcancer, and I am always happy to see her, because her situation is very uncertain, so the time we can spend with her, the better!

the best party i've been to was, well, not really a party, but we kinda made it into one :D it was the last day of summerschool (i'm an aide there), and we basically played cards, sang, laughed, etc. oh, and someone bought me starbucks! it was yummy
(about the starbucks, we actually "kidnapped" one of the students to come along with us)

I haven't been to any this summer. Most of my friends are away, and my extended family live in CT, and CA if not farther. The best party I could think of is my first and only, so far, birthday. It was my 12th birthday and it was at my old house, right before I moved. So I spent the day with my two best friends and lots of junk food. =]And my older cousins crashed the party, and I actually got more than one present.

The best party I've been to was definitely a wizard rock show that my friend Michelle and I actually performed at. We love writing songs about books (Harry Potter included, haha) and so we were a part of this fabulous, intimate (about 18 people in total there) wizard rock show here in town with The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willows, The Mudbloods, Justin Finch-Fletchley and Wild Magic. Yeah, yeah, it sounds supernerdy, but there's nothing like nerding out with a bunch of other people who don't care about looking silly and crazy — we're dancing to music about Harry Potter, after all! What could be sillier and crazier than that? haha :)

Awesome pictures! And that giftbag sounds cool!
My best friends and I had a mini party out on her deck last night. We ate insane amounts of chesse and crackers and talked forever in the dark with a bunch of candles all over the place. It was a very cool setting, and I had a really great time.

I'm going to a party soon (Breaking Dawn release/no more soccer camp party at Borders) and it'll be amazing! But I'll tell about a different one.
Well, my best friend always has get togethers at her house with a few friends. At the last one we played Rock Band for a while, Threw chocolate at each other, went swimming, ate and talked a lot. Then we all got rides home. The end. I know, it sounds really boring but it was really fun.
I've been entering these things for like months now and I never win. I think I'm bad luck. Oh well, I usually just like typing anyway. Hahaha. Maybe since I survived soccer camp(without any injuries that would stop me from playing), the soccer gods will reward me with some luck. I don't know, I doubt it. I think they already lent me some in my last game when I was on defense, but I hope they can spare some more!

I'm also going to the Breaking Dawn release party on Friday! YAY! That's about the most exciting party I've been to this summer I'm afraid. :-(
I'm going to give away some Violet bookmarks at BAM that night, if they come in by then...

The best party I've been to this summer. Well it wasn't really a party but I still loved it. I went to a concert with my best friend early in July and we had a blast! It was definitely the best night of my life. Everyone got really into the music, people were even crying! And before this concert there was a preparty for it and I managed to snag this amazing t-shirt at the auction there and I guess that was like my parting gift (even though I had to buy it, but it's okay. It was for a good cause). And yeah, that was definitely the best party I've been to. :D

My best party of the summer so far was a pool-party with the Down Syndrome Resource Group. I had a fun time with a ll the kids there and I got to swim too, what could be better?

Hi Melissa,
Well, honestly, the best party I've been to is a movie marathon in my room all by myself with tons of junk food.
The movies included:
Pride & Prejudice (the newer version)
The Holiday (Jude Law!!!!)
The Bridget Jones Diary
Needless to say, it was one of the best days I've had this summer!
Thanks so much for the giveaway!

I've only been to one party this summer and it was my cousin's 15th birthday party, and I guess you could say it was fun. There was a ton of 'drama' there (but with kids in high when is there not any?) that I didn't need, but towards the end of the party we all just sat and talked. Then she had a few of her girlfriends spend the night and we stayed up all night and just hung out.

Our cousin's wedding out on the beach in Massachusetts was amazing and a lot of fun. Great party!

I hope I'm not too late for this fantastic contest!
I really haven't been to any fancy-schmancy parties this summer, but I did manage to make it to a Breaking Dawn release party! I even won some nifty stickers in the Twilight trivia contest! (This one girl was incredible, however. I think she was the most informed and dedicated fan there that night--she knew the exact model of Carlisle's Mercedes and pretty much all the songs on the playlists Stephenie Meyer posted for all of the Twilight books!) There was a graffiti wall where people showed their support for either Edward or Jacob and the debate on who Bella would go with and what would happen in the end was really intense! There were so many passionate fans, which made it a fantastic release party! Definitely a fun event! :) Though I wish I had remembered to charge my batteries & brought my camera because some people had some amazingly creative t-shirts and the costume contest was pretty cool!
And I'd have to say, the movie-party-slash-marathon my friend and I had this weekend was pretty cool as well. We covered a stack of movies we've been dying to watch, but by the last movie, she had nodded off on the couch, despite having drunk about 2 cans of Sprite and having had a bit of ice cream to snack on! But it's always nice to watch some movies and catch up on news with your close friends! :)

Awesome gift bag!
I'd have to say that the coolest party I've been to all year was a Gilmore Girl party that I had with my sister and our BFF. We kicked off the party with a trip to Starbucks and then to the mall. But the best part of the party was when we returned home. The basis of a GG party is to watch GG. So we all headed out to our pool house, popped in season 7 and watched, for three days straight. In addition to watching GG we also enjoyed GG inspired food (PB and chocolate, red vines, mallomars, tater tot pizza, etc). It was by far the best weekend party ever!
