I Was a Real Life Gossip Girl
When I saw the cover of the November COSMOgirl (RIP), I noticed that my story had a cover line (see lower left corner), which is usually a thrill. But then I realized I was being branded as a Gossip Girl, which I guess I was, but I'm not altogether proud of it.
In any case, I let the magazine print a page from my diary, so I'm sharing it here too. Rest assured that I've learned a LOT since high school. I still like to talk (which is probably why I blog so much), but I keep it positive!

PS-Something else to know about today: A Long Island school renames itself Barack Obama Elementary. Cool!

Love the article -- and I think I remember those "sorry gifts." :) You are so brave to go back and re-examine your high school self. I don't even like to THINK about who I was back then!

Beautiful penmanship! I have 3 scary, huge, spiral-bound notebooks from high school that I co-authored with my friend Sacha. Half of what we wrote about involved feeling ugly or "fat" (Ha! Were we even 100 lbs?) and the rest pretty much was a list of guys we wished would love us.
I am SOOOOOOO glad those days are over!

Your writing is super neat and is like a font! Way nicer than the one they use in the magazine.
I envy it (my handwriting is notoriously messy)
