Violet in Private Release Week! Prize #1.
Okay, so every day this week I will be giving away a book that I've read and enjoyed. That's part 1 of the "release month" party that will happen on the blog. Each contest will run for one week, so comment all week to be entered and then I'll announce winners exactly a week later.
First up is a signed copy of Linda Gerber's Death by Bikini, which has great action and more than a little romance (and holes in the cover! Woohoo!). When mysterious guests start arriving at the island resort where Aphra lives with her dad, she gets suspicious and wonders if the sketchy visitors have anything to do with her mom, who left their family a few years ago. And when a long-time guest ends up dead on the beach (strangled by bikini strings!), Aphra has some detective work to do--and fast. Doesn't it just scream summer fun? YES.
So to win Death by Bikini, just comment below and tell me what your plans are for the (sniff) last month of summer!
Oh, and visit Linda's blog, where she's giving away some awesome prizes this week.
PS-Next week, I'll start giving away goodies from the Book Party Gift bag, which includes fun fashion and beauty treats--one each day, all month long!
PPS-The grand prize will be a full trio of signed Violet books and a full book party gift bag from the Violet in Private party in NYC! How to win that? Official details up next week, but here's a hint: you have to make a tribute to Violet somehow. Ideas: make a flipbook on flip.com, create a poem, write a missing scene from Violet's life, post a virtual Violet collage, film a vlog or video trailer for the books. Just to give you a head start. End date will be 9/1.

I am enjoying my last 2 weeks of summer in CA with family and friends before heading back to TX and work. I am a teacher so I have been really enjoying my summer off. :)

Yay for prizes!
I'm soaking up an invisible tan, then off to Massachusetts to do three colleges in three days (and a look around Harvard, but I refuse to apply.) I'll also be finishing summer AP work (joy), finishing "Breaking Dawn," and writing my butt off before school takes all my spare time.
It's senior year, though, so I'm psyched.

wow, my next month is really busy. this week i'm babysitting my 8 month old cousin, which is REALLY FUN but totally exhausting. next week i'm up to vermont to counsel at a drama camp. then 5 days at a cottage of lake winnipesauke in new hampshire. then i come back and have community building days at my new school and sports tryouts...
and then school starts! yay!

I would love to win a copy of Death by Bikini! For the last few weeks of summer, I'll be in Germany, studying like mad and integrating into the German lifestyle. I'm a foreign exchange student at the moment and will be in Deutschland for a year!

For the last month of summer, I'm gonna be trying to finish up the last bits of paperwork for college (silly financial aid difficulties!).
And reading. I just saw The Dark Knight (late, I know!) and there was a preview for The Watchmen in front of it. I love that graphic novel, so I'm taking the time to re-read it now ^_^

A whole month! That's awesome! Don't enter me since I've just very recently won, I do have a question though. On amazon this book is listed as a mass market paperback, those tiny ones that have easily cracking spines, but when you showed it in your video it looked more the size of a regular paperback. Just wondering which it was :)
That flip.com looks awesome!

The last month of summer will be a busy one. First off this week I had two birthdays, and a party to go to. AND a wedding on Saturday. Its a great way to start off the last month. After that I just plan to hang out will all my friends, and enjoy the sun while it lasts. I also plan to read alot more books. Keep me busy before school (which I am dreading) comes. I also really hope to finish all the things on my summer to do list. It includes many things I would never think of doing in the past. This summer was a summer for change. I got into better shape and I've lost 15 pounds. So this last month I plan to work harder and lose some more weight and go to my last year of highschool more confident and happy. :)

We're spending the last few weeks of the summer getting ready for 3rd Grade. My daughter is switching schools ... so 2 weeks less summer we just figured out on Friday. At least she's excited about it. So we are cramming in reading (Tomi de Paolo is killing my summer, but Bill Peet is way too awesome, how did I miss him when I was a kid) and pretending to do some math... and I'm moaning how everything has to be High School Musical themed... ha!

My plan for the rest of this summer is to read it up until Fall semester starts in 3 weeks. My friends all come back in 2 weeks. So that last week... we'll be partying it up because our schedules this year are anything but easy.
Plus I missed them, it was boring here without em.

Here is my planning for the last month of summer
1 till 8 august:
Last week of summer vacation
I work in an afterschool care of a primary school, and this is the last week that we are open all day long. AFter that, my regular work schedule begins.(in school weeks we are open 3-6 pm)
8-till 29 august.
No big plans. Just working at my job. Working on my blog, reading and reviewing books.
29 august:
Work in the afternoon and after that I will go the wedding party of my niece!!!
30 august:
I will visit the Uitmarkt in Amsterdam. This is the annual opening festival of the theatre season (uit = out, like in going out, markt means market, there are many many performances and there is a big information market)
31 august:
I will go see Les Miserables!
A good friend of mine is alternate for the part of Jean Valjean in this official dutch performance of Les Mis. Les miserables played here already in '92, and I was too young to visit it then, but now I dont want to miss it!!

Hey Melissa! My plans for the last month of summer... I'm going to try and get down to the cape as much as I can. I want to hang out with my friends from camp who I miss to death. I'm going to finish up my required summer reading books. I'm going to go back to school shopping, work out a bit and try to lose some of the weight I've gained from all the ice cream and BBQ's this summer. I'm also going to hit the beach as much as I can to work on darkening up my tan as much as I can. I hope it doesn't go by too fast though, I'm not ready for it to be over!!

And then of course there's all those great reads I want to get to before school starts and I'm too busy. =(
Please enter me in the giveaway. Thank you. =)

I hope it counts. "Death By Bikini" is actually a book that I've been interested in reading for a while.

Nothing extraordinary, read a few books maybe a lot of books before school takes over my life and I can only squeeze in a page or two at night. See my friends and work my butt off at the job.
I need to do something adventurous, I think I'll start planning for next year...

What I'm planning to do for this last month is to work my butt off at Dairy Queen and earn some cash. Hopefully also have a babysitting job so I can earn some more.
Also I'm planning on finishing a short story that I'm collabing with a friend and hopefully be able to make a blog for myself!
Posted by Diana Dang | August 8, 2008 1:31 PM
Hmm...read and review more...haha.
Actually, I'm planning to meet up with my friends and do something before we have to get back to school. Maybe the movies or something.
Yeah, I'm not good with plans. x)

I plan on watching the Olympics! Read a few books, work and sleep. Hopefully if our schedules are both clear, spend some time with some friends before school takes over my life.
Crossing fingers for both the giveaway and friends part. :)

Hello, This summer/year is flying by so quickly. I am getting both of our sons ready for school to begin. I am planning on what to do with more free time. I would love to read this book! Please enter me in your drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

Unfortunately, my summer is quickly coming to an end. This next week, I have to help my sisters get ready for school (they start on Thursday and Friday), and the following week, I start classes. But we're having a nice get together today with my mom and some of our friends to just relax and have a little fun, so that'll be fun.
I will be reading up a storm, though, when I get the time. I still have about 5 books on my shelf that I have to get around to reading.

I basically have no last month of summer (I aven't really had summer at all). I just finished up my summer classes at my university six days ago and I am going back for band camp (I'm in the color guard) in four more days! So I'm taking advantage of the time I have at home. I spent some time with my grand mother, went out with my closest friends and now I'm at one of my best friends house and we're going to Hershey park tomorrow wih her family! I'm so excited!
I need some books to read during band camp because when the 12hour day is over all I will be able to do it lay in my bedand read...I'll be exhausted!

I think August is going to be my boring month where I might actually stay home....I'll probably just go swimming a lot to survive this hot, hot, hot weather.
