Photo Friday: Libraries and a book I want to read
I'm feeling a lot of library love lately, so I thought I'd post photos (taken by phone--sorry so fuzzy!) of my local branch, which is two-and-a-half blocks from my apartment:
And the big beautiful Grand Army Plaza branch in Brooklyn, which is about 15 blocks away (and where I spoke last month, which was fantastic--all the students had read Violet! Even the boys!):
And finally, a book I'm looking forward to by Teri Brown (the premise just sounds awesome to me):
Feel free to share a local library comment or anything about a book you want to read that's coming out soon (like I need more for my list... yikes).
Happy Friday!

Wow, Read My Lips looks awesome! And both the libraries you go to look fantastic! Do you have a particular favorite, or one that you feel the most comfortable in? =D
I actually go to two different libraries that are miles apart, which rocks! One in Auckland(where I usually live), and one in Dunedin(where I'm going to Uni right now)! The Auckland City Libraries website has a book recommendation form, and usually if I fill it out they'll have it ordered on the catalogue the next day! I'm always amazed at how fast it is! =D

I love libraries! I have one next door to my work which i LOVE! the one near my house is great too it's part of this whole community center with an indoor park, cafe, etc. One time when I was little I was on vacation at the beach for a week I got a library card so i could check out books, why not right! Even now whenever I happen upon one I usually go in to see what they have to offer!
I've tagged you for a meme if you are interested :) http://aleapopculture.blogspot.com/2008/05/tagged-for-author-meme.html

My local library is the size of my living room. That's what happens when you live in the middle of nowhere. D=
The library I frequent while back on LI is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I so wish they had one like it back here in NC.
Speaking of neat libraries. I know this woman who used to live in Cleveland, Ohio. The library there mails the books you request to your house and give you an envelope to mail it back. It's kind of like Netflix if you've ever used them, except with books instead of movies. =P I think that is so cool for people who don't live near the library, seniors, handicapped people, or just busy people in general who can't get to the library.
