Finally Playing Tag
Author Stephanie Kuehnert tagged me earlier this week, and also suggested that responding to the tag might be a way to share more about myself on this blog. I've ignored tags in the past (Sorry! I'm an introvert at heart!) but I decided Ms. Kuehnert has a point. So here we go.
Here are the rules:
1/ you link back to the person who tagged you.
Done!
2/ post these rules on your blog.
So far so good.
3/ share six unimportant things about yourself.
1. The book pictured? First one I remember "reading." I also used to call it my diary when I was three, and I'd scribble in it nightly. And by scribble, I mean make a mess with a pencil.
2. I don't love talking animals the way other people seem to. What was up with all the animal Superbowl commercials? I think it's freaky. But I do admit that this site is pretty adorable, in a weird way.
3. I desperately wanted to be in a high school musical. We had these grand productions at Chapel Hill High School, and my friend Kara frequently got a starring role (Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, Minnie Faye in Hello Dolly!) Kara was a machine! I never even made the chorus. Sigh. But I'm still friends with Kara, and I forgive her for hogging the spotlight. Kidding, Kara! Years later, I can finally admit that the drama teacher was right: I can't sing, and I can't dance.
4. I really love to eat mac-n-cheese with Spam. It is de-licious. Judge if you must.
5. I was born in London because my dad was stationed there as a Captain in the Navy, so I have dual citizenship. That makes me a great catch, because if you marry me, the European Union is your oyster!
6. The first time I joined on of those BMG music services, I was about 13 years old. My friend Ruthie and I went through the catalog together and picked out our orders. I remember that mine included: Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, Jesus Jones's Doubt, Natalie Cole's Unforgettable... With Love and Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation. So I've always been eclectic, and sort of cool, but really not.
4/ tag six random people at the end of your entry.
Miss Couturable (who can do this for the Sunday Six perhaps?)
Kwana (although she can totally ignore me, since she tagged me once and I didn't play!)
5/ let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs.
Okay.
I would also love to hear a few random things about anyone who wants to share. Now that I've revealed my musical-related angst and my affinity for questionable dinners, it's time to tell me some secrets, too! You may do so in the comments below. Thank you.

YAY I love Spam :].
Anyway, I will somewhat do this on my blog on Sunday but somehow I feel like my readers already know enough about me.

I'll give you three unimportant things about myself:
1. I've performed in an arena that the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana performed in the night before.
2. I prefer my Spam fried, thank you. :) (Have you ever tried it? It's wonderful.)
3. I gave up soda for Lent, but I've cheated at least 6 times. Oh well. I'm not even Catholic.
=)

I had a similar book, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't it. But now I'm curious. I'm going to need to check with my mom.
And I do like that Jeep commercial with the singing animals, but the animal thing is getting to be overdone.
I accept your tag!

The animal thing might be a bit over done, but lolcatz are highly amusing. (By highly, I mean fall over laughing amusing. =])

I have two unimportant things that pop into mind.
1. I'm the only person I know that is allergic to watermellon. My lips puff out, my throat closes, my eyes itch, the whole nine yards. But I don't know how because watermellon is 70 percent water and I'm pretty sure I'm not allergic to water.
(This next one is a bit embarassing- but you decided to break out your introverted ways, so I'll take my chances.)
2. I sucked my thumb until I was about 12. (I'm almost 18 now so I think it's safe to say the habit is permanantly broken.) Wow. Glad that one's off my chest. Haha.

Hi Melissa. No worries for ignoring me. I hate to get tagged and suspect there are others like me! I think the world has gotten this tag:)
I'm going to defer this one since I've already done it. Here it is for anyone interested:

I STILL have my "My Book About Me!" It is always embarrassing and humbling to read it. Never been an instruction reader--a fault I still have--which lead to lines in my "MBAM" like "I Have YES windows and YES Doors." Lame! I think I even drew some naked pictures in it. Naked stick people are tough to draw, you know.
I bought them for my kids as soon as I found out I was pregnant with each of them. I have not yet let the three of them scribble their own stuff but for sure my 7-year-old is at about the perfect age...Able to write, but not well, so as to create his own embarrassing memento.
Off to order my VBD! Thanks for letting me procrastinate whilst working! ~Carolyn

Thanks for the comment you left me! And I am so jealous you have dual citizenship, that is too cool!
